WFH: One Year Later
If you had told me a year ago, when I sent the team home for two weeks, that we would still be there a year later, I would not have believed you. Mark Braykovich, EVP at Wilbert, encouraged people to take their desktops. As several carted their large Macs out the door, I thought to myself, “that seems a little over-the-top, but whatever…”
Shows what I know!
This week at Wilbert we are honoring OURSELVES because we have not only survived a year of WFH, we have continued to achieve great successes for our clients and our firm. We have embraced Slack and Zoom, onboarded hires long before meeting them, gotten together at parks for social-distanced camaraderie and stayed laser-focused on delivering results for clients.
So this week, we are taking a moment to thank each other, to pat ourselves on the back and to take a collective breath. We are leaning into fun (springtime baskets from Lucy’s Market delivered to each employee), wellness (a Zoom yoga class taught by a Wilbert alum) and community (a service project to help families at Shepherd Center).
Our office is under construction. We will return next month to a bigger space to accommodate our continued growth and post-pandemic desire for breathing room. The new office will mark a new chapter.
I can’t wait.
But first, I will open my basket from Lucy’s, mix a margarita, try the guacamole and chips and send a message of gratitude into the universe. If I had to work through a pandemic, I could not have asked for better teammates.
