The Works is now one of Atlanta’s most popular destinations for locals and visitors alike seeking food, drinks, shopping and fun on the Upper Westside. But, rewind a few years, when the adaptive reuse project was still the shell of a former factory, and developer, Selig, needed to paint the picture of everything that was to come. The Wilbert Group was engaged by Selig to tell the story of The Works in the media and online, which included an ongoing video project we dubbed "Meet the Makers," after the Makers Building that is now the central hub of The Works.
Over two years, Wilbert produced the Meet the Makers series as new tenants were announced and The Works’ construction progressed. We’ve interviewed Andrew Zimmern, food legend and curator of Chattahoochee Food Works at The Works, the Fox brothers from Fox Brothers BBQ, dozens of food stall owners at CFW, local Makers from Adelina Social Goods, Tinte Salon, Stellar Bodies and many more.
The long-term video series - just one part of a broad communications program Wilbert has executed for the property - has provided The Works with a steady drumbeat of in-depth content for social media and the e-newsletter, as well as a tool for the leasing team and online content hub. To date, the Meet the Makers videos have earned over 700K views across multiple platforms and continue to be relevant as the retail mix grows and evolves.
